Jenny recently finished her Mara Shawl in Madelinetosh Tosh DK and it's just stunning! This basic shawl is a wonderful beginner project once you've learned how to do yarn overs and k1f&b's. Mostly garter stitch in the body, this shawl transitions to a 1x1 rib for a short time, then increases in every stitch for a 2x2 rib ruffled border that really makes the shawl. The color Jenny used is called Jasper, a mix of various tonal greens. Several of us at Jimmy Beans have knit the Mara Shawl and love how meditative all of those rows of garter stitch can be. The pattern is free from the Madelinetosh Website here: .
